**Bent River Equestrian** is a small horse farm at the foot of the Pisgah National Forest and \*less than \*4 miles from DuPont State Recreational Forest.
The farm is in a small neighborhood, so *appropriate for families, couples, and small groups* to use as a base camp for their adventures. We are only a few miles Oskar Blues, The Hub, and Ecusta Brewing! Additionally, Brevard has many restaurants and a bit of night life, with bands playing at 185 King St. regularly. Sunsets in the Fall and Spring are amazing on the farm, but we normally recommend you spend afternoons in the shade of the woods or river.
There are two Farm Hands/Backpacking Guides who live on site in their own tiny homes, and my small home is on site. Campers have an unobstructed view of Looking Glass Rock, Mt. Pisgah, and you can see up to The Devil's Courthouse.
Sellers has a good eye and strong intuition, I very much enjoy lessoning with her! The barn is nice and secluded, there's no road noise and you get an incredible view of the mountains
I can't say enough about the exceptional experience I've had at Bent River Equestrian! I am lucky enough to have ridden with Sellers for two years now, and it has been such an incredible opportunity.
The emphasis on correct fundamentals and basics for both horse and rider is truly outstanding. Sellers is not only highly skilled but also incredibly patient and dedicated to ensuring that every rider receives the best education possible. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced rider, she tailors her instruction to your specific needs.
Daisy has been such a wonderful horse and companion. The horses are highly trained and impeccably cared for. Sellers commitment to the well-being of these magnificent animals is truly above average.
It's also worth noting that Bent River Equestrian is home to national competitors who consistently achieve impressive results. This speaks volumes about the level of expertise and training available here.
What sets Bent River Equestrian apart is the individualized attention they provide to rider development. They understand that everyone progresses at their own pace, and they are committed to helping you reach your personal equestrian goals. This commitment to lifelong learning is something I deeply appreciate.
I truly cannot recommend enough!
Sellers and her horses are amazing! Her farm could not be more beautiful and her arena is perfect for gaining confidence. I am a super beginner but I have gained a lot of skills in a short amount of time thanks to the instruction. I would highly recommend her to any beginner or advanced rider looking to improve their skills and confidence! Plus she has the cutest barn kittens!
Sellers is one of the best trainers and mentors i have ever had! She takes the time to really understand both rider and horse to make sure they both have an enjoyable and harmonious experience! She has incredible knowledge on riding and makes sure she shares that with you so you get the most out of your lesson! She is great with all ages and makes you feel very comfortable in what you are doing and won’t push you if you are not ready to take the next step! I highly highly recommend taking a lesson from her ! Plus her view while riding is to die for!
Great instructor and person, great facilities, wonderful horses (and other animals), and great times. My daughter and I have always loved horses and riding, but she really grew her passion for horses and found the specific area she want to pursue when she attended a one day summer camp at Bent River Equestrian this past summer. Ever since that day, she has been determined to become an equestrian vaulter. Sellers has been wonderful in working with my daughter to teach her the skills she needs to work with horses, while also allowing her to start chasing her dream. Working with Sellers as a parent and watching her with my daughter and other equestrian students has been amazing. I honestly have only positive things to say. You can see her love and dedication as an instructor for her animals and students alike. She is nurturing, supportive, caring, encouraging, and it is clear that she really strives to educate her students in all areas of riding and animal care, while still supporting the students main interest. I strongly encourage you all to give Sellers and Bent River Equestrian a try, you will not regret it!
