I came here last season with the family and had a great stay. To note, Mike McAliney is one heck of a fisherman. He knows the waters like the back of his hand. Had a blast reeling in my first salmon!! The motel is clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back.
Mike and his wife are fantastic hosts. Camping here is awesome and the motel is immaculate. We've stayed here for several years and love it. Mike is also a teaching guide and does driftboats trips during salmon and steelhead season. We do at least one trip a year. I always learn something new. Book early as spots fill up fast!!
We recently stayed at the Motel and couldn’t ask for anything more. Clean rooms, extremely close to the river, terrific staff, and our guide Mike was made the float a truly memorable experience. Can’t wait to come back next season!
Campground review:
While the hosts were very nice and enjoyable to deal with, I found the camping to be overpriced and bare boned. Basically, my site was 2" crushed stone and weeds, electric and sewer. There wasn't a picnic table or campfire ring. At 75.00 per night, I shouldn't have to cook on a plastic bin and sit in a folding chair with my meal on my lap. I didn't return for my second night and no refund was offered.
For anyone looking to stay in the area, make Mid-River your first choice! It's in a prime location less than 5 minutes from the Salmon River with easy access into town. The rooms were incredibly clean and clearly kept in great condition.
Mike and Graziella were absolutely wonderful, helpful and friendly. The best part was the fishing, which, even for a rookie, was made much easier with the help of Mike! I could not have had a better experience and owe it all to the two of them.
Between the stay and the experience, both were awesome and they treated me like family. I couldn't be more thankful and I'll definitely be back!
