Rimmed by Sitka spruces and shore pines, this crisp, clean campground occupies a groomed lawn overlooking Floras Lake in Langlois Oregon. Pet Friendly, consisting of a mixture between RV and Tent sites, this campground also houses laundry and shower facilities, RV dump station, firewood sales, and free Wi-Fi. Reservations are recommended during peak months, but not required.
Separated from the Pacific Ocean by narrow dunes, this beautiful campground has long since been used by wind sport enthusiast. Kite boarding, sailboarding, and kayak rentals are available right next door to the campground, along the lake side trail. A boat launch in the day-use area provides opportunities for motorized and none motorize boaters to enjoy the lake and join in on the fun.
A footbridge at the day-use area outlet leads to the dunes and the long, wild beach. A short walk beyond the picturesque lake, the adjacent shore connects into the Oregon Coast Trail, and provides an amazing route for anyone looking to explore the region. The outlet travels 8 miles connecting into the New River; this provides a one of a kind easy kayak or canoe trip with gorgeous migrating birds all along the corridor. Duck hunting exist in a section of this corridor for those that brave the winter season.
Flora Lake is located south of Bandon and just south of Langlois and north of Port Orford and Denmark. Look for the signs for Floras Lake/Boice-Cope County Park and turn west onto Floras Lake Loop, west on Floras Lake Road, left on County Road 136 and then immediately right onto Boice-Cope Road to the parking lot.
Camp site is great, by the lake and ocean !
Camp Host Megan is even better :) she is super sweet and welcoming, even daisies at the camp sites are brighter because she takes cares of very well. Spotless restroom and shower. Hot water in the shower. Bring some quarters, you need $1,5 for shower. There is also really good wifi. Was a great stay.
We love this park. It will cost you around $30 per night. The park is clean and easy to access. Off the beaten path so not crowded. Park host was pleasant and welcoming. Great access to the beach with a nice walk around Floras Lake. RV spaces have water & Electrical service. The dump station is clean and convenient. Head 12 miles north and visit the Bandon Boardwalk. You can spend a few hours walking around. Next time we are going to go to Bandon Stables and take the horse back ride to the beach. Last I looked it was affordable and looked like a lot of fun.
Two complaints: 1st, the vents in both showers are clogged with paint; and 2nd, there are way too many unleashed dogs, with many of them never being leashed.
This venue is unique in Oregon, and many board sailors take full advantage... very entertaining to observe. After a long half mile walk from the campground, the surfperch fishing is some of the best Oregon has to offer.
Note that cell phone service is marginal, and the offered WiFi service is often sketchy.
