Welcome to Blue Heron Landing
Come fish, camp, and kayak right on Mill Creek with direct access on-site! Daily rentals available for non-campers. Call for more details.
BHL offers RV Lots, Creek Side Tent Sites, Cabin Rental, and RV Rental. We have a playground and laundry room, too!
We stayed here twice, once on the way up 77 and then once one the way back down 77. Highly recommend if you are looking to overnight while traveling 77. The owners are very pleasant, friendly, and accommodating.
They have a newer laundry building that requires HE detergent and not powder so keep that in mind if you need to do laundry. You will need to have quarters too as there is not a change machine. Again, no big deal. Great power and great water pressure. Very clean.
If you have a bad back or knees make sure you ask for a site with water on the post. They have something weird going on with some of the sites where the water hookup is below the ground. I can’t explain, but you need to know if you are like me and have had knee surgery, etc.
You can tell this is a newer campground and they are continuing to perform improvements such as new trees planted, etc.
Very nice campground, run by incredibly friendly and helpful people. Easy to get to from I77. The shower house is incredible! I've never seen such a nice, clean shower house in a campground. I will definitely keep them in mind during my travels.
Very friendly staff. Easy check in. Affordable for one night. WiFi only available by the office. Good cell phone reception. Fairly level spots. Easy road access, so with that brings some road noise. But not too bad. Good water pressure. Sweet little barn, where they were putting up Christmas decorations after Thanksgiving.
We stayed in the red cabin two nights. The cabin was very comfortable. Scenic, along Mill Creek. Very clean. The air conditioning system was easy to control. The bed was firm but very comfortable. VERY COMFORTABLE!
Rebecca, the manager, was absolutely FANTASTIC! Giving us recommendations of places to go.
We will return!
We stayed at this Campground from October 2022- part of May 2023 as my husband was working in the area. We loved our time here! Owners were very personable, friendly, helpful and on top of things! We had a full hook-up, back in site that overlooked the fantastic river below. The bottom area of the campground is the true gem of this place. It's beautiful with its green grassy area, picnic tables with umbrellas over looking the lake, great place to fish and catch 50lb catfish! Our neighbor was always fishing and we had the chance to witness his catches on several occasions. They have two cabins down there and it's such a great area to take a family walk, enjoy the scenery and watch the cows across the gated fence. There is a rather steep hill to get down to this gem of a place but its great exercise. They have a small playground up top that my kids loved although they preferred to play in the creek towards the front of the campground and watching the wildlife like groundhogs, jacksnipes, frogs lay their eggs and more. They have a laundry room at the front entrance of the campground that has wi-fi but this is not a campground with extended wi-fi throughout. They have 3 washers and 3 dryers very reasonably priced and always clean. They have restrooms and showers by camp office but we never used them so I cannot attest to what they looked like or how they were. We experienced the end of fall here, winter and spring and never had an issue. Although come spring we found that ticks were bad so make sure to come prepared. If we're ever in the area again this will be the campground we stay at.
