I contacted them to consider this as a venue for my upcoming nuptials celebration, and it was very disappointing including rude/inept communication. I don't understand why you would have such a great place and put nothing into marketing or working with people to assist them. I received advice that warned me not to work with vendors without a good first impression. I would have gone with one star, but the reality is - I don't hate much and I never saw it in person.

I made an appointment with Doug to view the grounds and get some information regarding what they offer when it comes to weddings. My fiancé, his parents and my parents drove an hour there this past Sunday to meet at the time we agreed. When we walked up to the office it was obvious that nobody was there, there was a phone number on the door so I called and left a voicemail letting them know we were there waiting and also called the main office number. Around 15 min after our appointment time we saw a young man walking around who informed us that Doug was there but he didn't know where he was. We waited a few more minutes but nobody ever showed up to give us a tour. We decided to just tour the grounds ourselves which was just a waist of time because the place is a dump, it is not maintained at all and there is just random junk sitting around everywhere. After a half an hour of not seeing a single sole and no call back we decided to leave. As we were walking back to our cars we were almost run over by some psycho in a white van. He never stopped to ask if we needed help so I am assuming he wasn't an employee and if he was it really shows their lack of customer service. I never received a call back that day so I guess they don't care about the loss of business.

My 4 year old son loved it. We got a tent site by the river and fished all night. The new management was very nice. They even let my son light little fountain fireworks off. I will admit that there is work to be done there but it does not happen over night and if u r there to camp u should not need all the bells and whistles. Great night fishing and just a nice quite place to get away from everyday life.
