Great area for family and pets. Great for walking, riding bikes, tubing , playing in the water or just enjoying nature. Main trail is paved but there are other fun dirt trails to explore as well!
It's fun but you need to get to know it. There are two trails, the paved one that still needs some intervention from the flooding and the one along the creek that is more interesting.
Park at the north trailhead, walk down a half mile, find the path to the creek and follow that down until it meets up with the paved trail. The bridge is being fixed so follow the paved trail back. A bit over four miles but fun.
Great trails for walking, biking, or dog walking. A blacktop trail and a dirt trail following the river gives a nice option depending on your abilities. Plenty of wildlife; ducks, herons, deer, turtles, and others. Lots of cool plants and fungi like nettles and honey mushrooms. Nice big parking lot.
Just a lovely spot to walk, hike, bike and reflect on your day! If you enjoy a beautiful stroll, come here!
This is a wonderful Preserve and would be a five star but for the noise of Route 322. It has the northern part of the Brandywine Trail and some natural trails eith access near the trail bridge.
