We had the hotel to ourselves. We wandered around, took pictures, and enjoyed our stay . We definitely will be going back .
It is an amazing place to stay.. granted we stayed in their finest suite which has a sun room with a view.. the pictures don't do them justice. (It was still cheaper than some more simple rooms in Wichita.)
It is rustic, quiet. & Clean. Also affordable. The gentleman working down stairs prepping the restaurant even went above and beyond. Helping us when we were leaving behind schedule.
Oh boy where to start. Called six times 3 months prior to reserve a room for a gift certificate we won at a silent auction for a friend. No calls back. Finally a friend said they knew someone there and personally messaged them, finally got rsvp. Day of trip we arrived around 3 and nobody there to check in, all door locked. Finally staff showed up and she helped us out. Our gift certificate was for a queen room. But on website it said we could pay extra for guest. There was 4 of us. The lady was very kind and said ill get you a bigger queen room so you guys are not cramped. Awesome. Sent us to room 208 and ac was not working. They then moved us to 209 which had moldy toilet paper wadded up in toilet, and the electric was not working. Told staff but actually said no biggie cause we're going to ghost haunt later so guess if we're in darks be it. At this point we are having a good time until the GM aka my husband named her dragon lady showed up. This woman was unprofessional and rude and for a rest of day and early next morning we had to deal with her herrasment. 1st as we are eating dinner in the restaurant she pulled up a seat at our table never introducing herself besides a weird pause of silence followed by her saying let's get to the business point im the GM. Who's Erin. I answered that would be me. She proceeded to tell us we could not rent an air mattress that our friends would need to get their own room. I said ok I guess we'll get one then. Then she told our table we were not to have any of our own alcohol in restaurant. She clearly saw we bought the alcohol from the restaurant. When dinner was over my husband and friend went up the stairs to the room. Only to be stopped at the top of stairs by her blocking the steps saying rudely Did you guys figure it out yet. My husband told her yes the girls are down stairs getting it taken care of. We figured its all good now back to enjoying our time. Nope. As we were outside having a cigarette on 2nd story balcony where my husband couldn't go up and down too many times due to his knee surgery. She comes out screaming that this door can not be proped open. She doesn't want snakes inside. Not to mention 2nd floor and there was a big rock there to do just that, because that door locks. Later on we moved our car closer to our room in a parking space. As she was leaving she drove up to us while we were sitting in the patio area. And told my husband he could not park there and he needed to move the car cause they needed to park there in the morning due to the bikes needing parking. Um you ask your guest to move so you can park closer...ok. anyways she left. Yes everyone leaves. No staff if anything is needed. Pretty sure that's not code. For next few hours we did a little ghost hunting. All doors were open and we were told we could walk through rooms. Out of 10 rooms 3 had people staying in them 2 of those rooms were reserved by us. So 1 room of off limits. We ended about midnight shortly after all room doors were being slammed shut. I'm sure she came back to close the rooms after seeing us on her cameras investigating. Anyways next morning we had biker friends driving up to enjoy the biker breakfast they have every 3rd Sunday. I walked down the back steps only to be stopped by the beast again. This time she wanted to know how my friends made out. I was confused cause I know she knows we got an extra room. She then said oh my cameras showed 2 girls walking up the stairs. So yes insinuating I had more people there. Sorry to spoil your thought but no. It was nothing but harassment. Down right rude. On top of all this my friends who paid for an extra room had no towels and old moldy coffee in the coffee pot. Funny how the GM is in everything but her own business. As GM answer your calls for rsvps, clean your rooms, and stay on top of maintenance. You might have more guests. I do want to say the 3 staff members who were there actually working were wonderful. They actually know hospitality. I'm just sorry they have to work for someone like her.
Went to the restaurant. Googled and called if they served breakfast during open hours, but got there around 12:30 and was told breakfast end at 11 am. Was disappointed but ordered lunch, fries were hot and fresh, delicious. Burger was just ok, hot and fresh though. I had the pork tender sandwich, it was good.
