AFTER YOU HAVE TURNED ONTO MOUNTAIN VIEW DRIVE…
Go 100ish meters to a T intersection and turn left.
This road will make a right turn after 50ish meters and becomes graded gravel.
After about a mile, the gravel road makes a 90 degree left turn.
The road goes straight for about 1.5 miles, then drops down into a gap.
You will pass a McMansion on your left, (tough to see at night) then again on your left, a small brown house.
BaseCamp 37° will be the next driveway on your left, 400 meters past the little brown house. Two sage-colored cabins on the left side of the road and tents in the distance.
The driveway has a giant rock at the entrance with our address, 5951 8 Mile Gap Road.
If you cross the cattle guard at the Utah-Arizona border, you’ve gone too far, back track for about 400 meters to BaseCamp 37° driveway.
When you enter the property, continue to the first right turn.
Pull up near the main cabin, and one of the hosts will come greet you.
The tents are a couple hundred feet down the road, and you can pull your vehicle right behind your tent and unload.
Exceeded all my expectations. Amy, the owner, has thought of everything. Do not miss out on this ultra comfy tent camping with a community house/kitchen/bathroom/living/patio area. We brought ATVs and food in a cooler. She had everything we needed to cook in the kitchen, play bags and board games before and after dinner, swing in the hammocks, sit by the fire to roast mallows and make smore's that were already on site. After riding all day it was nice to come back to two full bathrooms to shower (and a half bath/toilet) to accommodate our party of 9. Even with 3 other tents always occupied on site, we never had to wait to shower or use the facilities. Well water was perfect to cook and brew French press coffee. We stayed warm with propane heaters in the tents and had (solar) power whenever we needed it to light our tent and charge our electronics. Love, love, love. Plus Amy checked on us regularly and made sure we knew how to get around to the local sites. She gave us ideas and suggestions to visit other fun sites in the area. We'll be back! There's so much to do around here. ❤❤❤
Beautiful. Highly recommend for a nice getaway. Very cozy in the tents. Though temperature regulation is hard. There are warm fireplaces, but nothing to cool down when it’s super hot in the mornings!
We were so happy to have found this place and even more happy that we stayed here the entire time we explored Bryce, Zion, Vermillion Cliffs and Page. It was so peaceful and clean! It was in the center of everything but …and I mean this in the best possible way… the middle of nowhere… we heard coyote at night and stayed warm in luxurious tents even though it was chilly at night! The showers and shared spaces were beautiful and immaculate. At the end of every day, we looked so forward to our cozy tent in the dessert. Just returned to our home and still talking about this wonderful place!
We were so happy to have found Basecamp 37. The tent cabins are nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Amy has installed propane fireplaces in each of the cabins for those colder nights. We used it in the morning and it heated up the tent very quickly and nicely. The communal areas of the kitchen, bathrooms, and patio were also nicely decorated and very clean. It was really fun to meet the other guests staying there and hear about their adventures. We loved sitting on the porch of the cabin by the fire in the evening watching the sun set over the desert. Overall, vastly better experience than staying in a hotel and a lot much more luxurious and staying in my own tent, I highly recommend Basecamp 37. We hope to return soon.
I can not say enough great things about Basecamp 37! The location is stunning! The tents are spaced far enough apart and facing different ways so you really feel like you’re there by yourself. Amy has thought of every detail in the tents as well as the communal area! Even the directions you get emailed with your confirmation email are better than GPS. Let nature be your white noise machine and stay at this one-of-a-kind destination. I wasn’t even here a full day and was already mentally planning out a family trip to stay here. We also had birds bring us sticks (and a rock) every night of our stay and had a huge pile on the porch by our last day - we absolutely loved it.
