Rough ride in, but not the worst. Made it out just fine in the jetta. When we arrived the bugs were definitely bad on the walk to the lake so definitely bring bug spray. Once you get onto the dock the bugs calmed down and the water was beautiful. Caught a few bluegill fish but no luck with the bass. Definitely watch out for the missing boards in the dock.... not fun falling in no matter how warm the water is😂

Beautiful, water is a little warm maybe 75°, but perfect for swiming and big enough for paddle boarding✌️

A very cool lake out in the middle of the Utah desert near the Nevada border.

The lake is naturally warm and the area surrounding is very beautiful, if not rugged. It's well worth the drive out there.

Be warned, however, that after leaving US 93, the gravel road does have a fair amount of washboard. It'll rattle you pretty good. However, my son's Toyota Corolla did just fine.

7 miles of VERY bad road to get to it. Doable in a normal car if you limit your speed to less than 20 mph and were going to replace your shock absorbers anyway.

However, once you get there it's all worth it! Incredibly clear water that's warm enough to go swimming.

The boardwalk to the lake is reminiscent of the boardwalks to the fresh water ponds in Cape Cod.

Imperative that you remember to bring a strong bug repellent just in case. Horseflies hurt and draw blood when they bite. Make sure you know where you're going as this is in the middle of nowhere on a paved road followed by sandy or dirt or mud or washboard sections. The parking is on a dirt and salt hard surface. The short walk to Blue Lake is on wooden boards of all shapes, sizes and types. We were at this large geothermal pond, about 16 miles south of Wendover, to meet members of a Boise, ID scuba diving group. The water is warm and clear enough to be used for scuba diving training. Besides this group, there were two people on the pond, one on a paddle board and one in a river tube. There were two people snorkeling. Two men were flyfishing from the shore wearing long sleeves and long pants. Besides bug repellent, bring, at a minimum, drinking water. Either eat before you come or bring food. There is this pretty pond/lake, with a parking lot, a wooden boardwalk, surrounded by marsh and tall grass, hidden in the desert.
