In Monticello, UT, at intersection of US Rt. 666 (Central St.) and US Rt. 191 (Main St.), take Rt. 191 south 0.2 miles to Draw Loop Rd. sign. Turn right after sign and go 0.2 miles to a "Y"intersection. Bear left and go 0.7 miles to another "Y" intersection (County Rt. 101 and Forest Rt. 105). Bear right onto Rts. 101 and 105 and go 5.5 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.2 miles to campground.
A really quiet and beautiful place! I wish we had been able to stay more than one night! Rolled through on our road trip, my only tip is to check the dates on the Reserved signs because it's a low maintenance place and we had a choice of more sites than we'd 1st realized.
A quiet and beautiful campground with huge aspen trees! We went to Arches National Park & Canyonlands NP needles entrance from here and it was an easy drive to both
A small campground, about 12 sites plus 2 group sites. Lots of distance between sites. Pit toilets were clean, but not stocked with sanitizer. Numerous water faucets throughout campground. Altitude makes this a cool choice during hot weather.
We enjoyed staying 2 nights at Buckboard Campground in June 2021. It was nice, peaceful, and quiet. Large campsites, plenty of firewood, pit toilets, water, stream and pond near by, and not many people around. We heard turkeys, but never saw any. We did have a few deer stop by and check us out, though.
It is a very nice, well-maintained campsite with enough space for a camper. Included are a fire pit and a table. Apart from the soothing babble of the stream nearby, it is very quiet. The campground is in the woods, which gives you shade on a hot day. There are toilets, drinking water stations and a garbage station. The price of $20 was not too high for this great campground.
