Nice enough park, great valley views. Friendly easy going staff. Closed in dog park for off leash time. Wifi pretty good. No cable. Air TV has only 2 Christian channels, and 3 audio Christian channels. Some shady spots, some full sun.

Base Camp RV is owned and operated by a very friendly and helpful couple that lives on site. Check-in couldn’t have been easier, but I wish that they were following the state mask mandate in place at the time of our stay.

Base Camp made a convenient stop on our way into Oregon (it’s right on the highway, but traffic is low enough that road noise was nonexistent), offering relatively level FHU sites, a nicely sized dog run, and a bunch of other amenities that we didn’t use on our short stay (laundry, propane, playground, etc). Our site was long enough, utilities were easy to reach and worked well (including a handy frost-free water hook-up), and while it felt roomy, that may be because we had no neighbors. We passed through during their slower season, so the park was quiet and there were many open sites, and it’s hard to say if this CG would feel less spacious during their busier months. The CG is also all dirt, and we happened to come in post-snow melt, so there was plenty of mud (nothing that affected our ability to park, camp, or drive-in/out), but again… your timing/experience will vary. Nightly rate is currently $35.

Base Camp is a good place to stay in Lakeview Oregon. Pros are that the RV Park is located just off Hwy 395 north of Lakeview. It has a large park area and our 40 foot motorhome was able to easily maneuver. There is a lot of gravel but also a large grassy area to walk our dogs. Bathrooms are very clean. Managers are super nice. Sunsets are beautiful. Cons are that there are not many 50 amp spaces, 80% of the park are living there permanently and the trees are not well trimmed.

We stayed here for a few months in our 33 foot travel trailer after we lost our homes in the fire in paradise ca. They were very friendly, wonderful people. The showers and bathrooms are so clean! They have a cute little park the kids can play at. And the landscape is stunning. They have an on site manager Jerry who was amazing to us and helped us feel at home. We loved our stay here. The hot springs is very close and we would just walk over to swim but due to an accident with a child in the pool the hot springs is now members only and no kids are allowed I believe.
