Dispersed Camping Area. Vault toilet is located at entrance to campground at the Carr Lake Trail Head. This camping area is located immediately adjacent to the Mogollon Rim Escarpment and several campsites are bordered by a 200' vertical drop. **This area is not recommended for families with young children or people who are uneasy with heights.**
Large campsites, great views, rain every afternoon during monsoons, quiet. You can get 5 gal of water a day at the 1st campground, Mogollon. Dumping is by Woods Cyn Lake abt 3 mi away for $7.
Absolutely beautiful. We’ll definitely be back. Just make sure you’re checking the right weather stations for the temperatures. I was under the impression it was going to be about fifteen degrees warmer than it was so we only ended up staying one night.
We were quite fortunate to tent camp on site 22 ❤️ Although you couldn't go wrong in any site on FR9350, the views from our rock ledge were absolutely stunning! The sites are complete with fire rings, far enough apart and wooded enough for privacy, the grounds were spotless when we arrived, access to FR9350 is super easy off of SR87, the location is close enough from the valley to pop up to for a short weekend or close enough to Payson if you need anything while staying for a longer period of time. It appeared to be pretty easy access for fifth wheels and trailers, as well. We will definitely be back!!
What a fantastic find. On my way back to Michigan from Phoenix, I was looking for a spot to stay the night and stumbled upon this place. Loved it. Was lucky to get a site as it was Sunday and some were leaving. Stayed on site #33. Breathtaking views. The sites are far apart so there is plenty of privacy. I will definitely come back.
Awesome, awesome experience. Get out and enjoy the woods. Free dispersed camilping along the rim with a total of 41 sites near woods canyon lake. Why pay when the forest was meant to be free. Cool weather in the low 50s at night during June. Camping was a blast was quiet, not really windy. Had no weather issues either. Definitely a great place to spend time with friends and family. 4 days out there and no regrets.
