Just outside the petrified forest in Arizona, there are lots of petrified rocks and other items for sale.

What a wonderful place to stay for a few days and close to the Petrified Forest! Plus it is FREE!

It's not much but if you are Boondocking for a few days or just wanna stay overnight, this is a great place to stay! I'd say get there before 5pm-ish as it starts to fill up due to people leaving the park. There a few spots that have covered picnic tables and the rest are out in the open. It's a gravel/dirt base for the most part and leveling is pretty easy!

FYI, there are NO hookups of any kind here. So be prepared ahead of time. The associated campground/store across the street has "electric only" for $15, if you need it.

I love this place. The owners are very friendly and they have awesome stuff in the gift shop. Be sure to make your souvenir pennies when you're there, the penny machine is right inside the entrance. The other awesome point about this place is it offers free camping. If you are in a RV or self-contained vehicle you can camp there for free. I have stayed there twice and have always felt safe. Conveniently located at the South entrance of the Petrified Forest National Park it's the perfect place to stop and stay while you visit the forest. Even the things around the gift shop and the one across the street are pretty cool. Check out the pyramid at the corner and the structure of the building itself with all the crystals, petrified wood, agate and other stones. So cool!

Thanks for letting us stay over night for free! We went inside and loved the collection of everything available! Saw a log outside that mentioned the Dobells. I got to meet Noah Donell yesterday and thought this was amazing to see!

Thanks so much for the free place to camp and park our RV for a day or two. Covered picnic table sites and open spaces.
