Decided to stop here for the view and a rest. The view is SPECTACULAR!
Plenty of parking for cars and Rv's!
Definitely worth a visit!
This is the place to see Denali. It's a campground/parking lot about 100 miles south of the Park entrance on the way to Anchorage. You can't see the mountain from the Park. You can see the whole range from here.
We went at 6 AM one day (June 30), and the mountain was partially obscured. After going to the park, we went back and stayed in the parking lot. Woke up around 4 AM, and there she was in all her glory. If you're looking to see Denali, trust me and go here.
Nice place to stop few minutes and enjoy the view. However, not so great for RVs. They'll charge you $20 bucks to stay overnight in the parking, there is no wood available and no service other than public toilets. I think it is WAY too expensive for that, particularly considering there is spot with beautiful views for free few miles in any direction.
Although a little awkward to get to in the winter due to trekking through snow, the views are SO worth it!! The mountain was definitely out this day :)
Good place for a short stop. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather and did not see Denali.
I hope others have better luck. It makes sense if you're driving past to make a stop. It's not worth making a special trip here.
Otherwise the place is beautiful like everything else in Alaska.
