Located 147 miles north of Anchorage and 90 miles from the National Park Service entrance.
Great campground that doesn't appear to be popular. Lots of spaces open when we stayed and are quiet. No hook ups but nice pit toilets, garbage dumpsters. The lake surrounding trails are beautiful and the local kayak tour company is awesome.
Great place to be! Clean pit toilets, firewood for sale, well water available (boil it) and beautiful lake. All for $20. Be bear cautious. Can rent kayaks next to campground.
Really nice. Even in the middle of summer there were a few spots available at 8pm. Pretty lake. They have a well, bathrooms and places to dump trash. Perfect spot just next to Denali.
Byers Lake is our favorite campground, off the Parks Hwy, heading north towards Denali. The campsites are nice. There are lots of hiking trails to explore around the lake and beyond. Boating on the lake is fun. We were there in May over Memorial weekend, and the camp host position was not filled yet, and there was still a little ice on parts of the lake. This is part of Denali State Park, and costs $20 per night.
Great Campground for pull throughs, close to the veterans memorial. Unfortunately the dump facilities as of the end of June were not open. There are lots of fly so dress accordingly and we're repellent, a nice quick hike by the lake to a 1953 built log cabin is also a great idea.
