About Campground

Overview

White Oak Creek Campground is situated on the shores of Walter F. George Lake on the Georgia and Alabama border. The lake is a great place to get away for a week, a weekend or just an afternoon.

Boating, swimming, fishing and camping are popular activities.

Recreation

The Chattahoochie River lakes are an angler's paradise, where largemouth bass, white bass, hybrids, crappie, channel catfish and bream are found. The lake's 640 miles of shoreline offer many excellent locations for bank fishing, and a boat ramp is conveniently located nearby.

The lake and its surrounding forests provide a great locale for hiking, hunting or simply observing wildlife.

Facilities

The campground offers 129 sites with electric and water hookups. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities and three dump stations.

Younger campers love the park's playground and wide open spaces.

Natural Features

Walter F. George Lake, sometimes called Lake Eufaula, stretches 85 miles up the Chattahoochee River. Visitors come to relax and play among the natural beauty of the area.

The lands surrounding the lake are forested with dense stands of mixed hardwoods. A wide variety of wildlife is commonly seen, including waterfowl, deer, squirrels, rabbits, eagles, hawks, bobcats and dozens of species of songbirds.

Nearby Attractions

The historic towns of Eufaula, Alabama and Cuthbert, Georgia are nearby. Eufaula boasts more than 20 structures and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Beautiful antebellum mansions are located throughout both towns.

Directions

From Eufaula, Alabama, take US 431 south. Turn left on SR 95 and continue for 2 miles, then follow signs to the campground.

$26 per night for our little camping amongst RVs spot. There were no spots open on the water but the sunrise makes it worth it. Very clean, picnic table and smaller table provided, as well as a fire pit and grill. Leashed animals only, though the people next to us did not adhere to that rule. There is a dog park, disposal station, plenty of areas to walk to fish and be on the water for swimming. Shower/ bath/ restroom/ laundry houses (all clean). All in all, it was a good birthday/ mother's day weekend. Very sweet gate staff. Must pay online!

Very nice campground. Large clean sites, several are on the water. We requested, and got, a pull through site (44), but I think all of the sites are situated for easy back up of your trailer. The first loop (1-29) is closer to hwy 95 and a bit more road noise but still not bad. Clean, heated, restrooms with showers. Each loop has bathrooms with washers and dryers. Friendly staff. Gates are locked at 10 pm and opened at 6 am. You'll need to park outside the gate if the locked gate affects you and it's a bit of a walk if you are on the other side of the gate. All sites have 50 and 30 amp power and all sites have a water connection. Dollar General is about 2 miles away and the town is about seven. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend.

I stayed here for two nights and it was a very relaxing camping trip. Unfortunately I wouldn't suggest tent camping here because of ants 🐜. I ended up sleeping in my car instead. The first site I got was completely infested, but when I went and told the people at the check in, they found me a different site and it was actually way better than the one I originally booked for. I saw a pest control car drive through the grounds a few hours after I switched sites. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms are kept very clean and the grounds are beautiful. Theres a dog park, but it doesn't seem to have been mowed in a long while. My dog still enjoyed getting to run around off leash. There are lots cats that run across the camp sites and you can hear them in the woods, so keep your dog on a leash!

I would highly recommend staying here and I'll definitely come back!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. It's very clean and the other campers are so nice. We love being right on the water. A lot of trails to walk. Sites and rest rooms/with showers are always clean. You need to go into ufaula to Donut King. The best donuts around. They are filled to the last bite...so yummy!!

Great place to camp. Sites are well maintained, facilities clean, quiet and peaceful. Patrick checked us in and went out of his way to accommodate our needs. Even our pets had a good time.
