Campsite: Tom Sawyer's RV Park

A hidden treasure!!

After reading a ton of reviews, we stayed at Tom Sawyer last night. We were just passing through, heading east for Thanksgiving in Knoxville.

We have stayed on the other side of the river at T.O. Fuller previously and will never stay there again.

First let me say, do not let the drive in deter you. It seems way out there, but it's not. Once you check in, which was pleasant, speedy and efficient. Super friendly staff.

You round that right corner and it all opens up to the three different site areas. We stayed in site 1 a really flat pull through. Didn't even have to unhook or level! Fabulous. If we were staying longer I would definitely stay closer to the river. Some sites are paved. There is a pretty pond with weeping willows. Benches and watch towers line the bank of the Mississippi so you can go out and sit and enjoy a gorgeous sunset, like we did.

It would seem most of the full time residents live in the first section where we were.

There is not a fenced dog park, but a huge...and I mean huge open field where we let our dogs off leash to chase the ball. Peaceful and quiet.

I am so happy to find a nice rv park located in the (West) Memphis area.

We will definitely return.

Campsite: McWest RV Park

Reserved a specific site and paid in full in July. We get there in September, and someone is in our spot. Called, she offered me five bucks and pick another spot. I declined.

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HERE. The only photo, while it was being built, was the only one I have seen. That's because it looks the same. ZERO facilities, no bath house/restrooms, no laundry, no amenities at all.

She refunded our money, (minus her fees) within 24 hours.

It's cheap for a reason.

Campsite: Bolivar RV Resort

The ONLY reason I am not giving a 5 star is the fact that the laundry only has two washers and two dryers. Residential units so it takes double the time to do your laundry. A resident was already there when I arrived so I had to wait for her to free up. She was also doing bedding that was taking longer to dry.

We rented a golf cart our last day there and drove up and down the beach. That was great. The sites were nice and paved. I thought the totem poles and palm trees were a nice touch in between each site until we were trying to back in, made it a bit tight, but we made it. Mel was very nice and accommodating. We have never stayed on the Texas Gulf Coast before. You have to ride the ferry to get to Galveston. Go early as the ferry line backs up. We got there at 12:30 pm and waited an hour and a half to board a ferry. Coming back is not that kind of wait.

Campsite: Colorado Landing RV & Mobile Home Park

Chris is fantastic! So helpful and friendly. We came for the fall Round Top craft and antique show. Colorado Landing is right here in the heart of La Grange. Close to everything. Nice small town.

They have the absolute largest dog park we have seen since going full time in May. It's awesome!! There are two trails, a pool, laundry, and a nice shady playground. The sites are spread out, so nice after being close in other rv parks.
