Campsite: Deep Creek Campground

We were searching for a quiet and green free camping option on our way to Utah on a Saturday in July, around 4pm.

I found this free campground along a beautiful river on google maps and we checked it out. It was completely full. So we drove up a road for some miles and found another spot directly by the street but with a fire place and grandios view on the green mountains all around. So we decided to stay here for the night.

The nature is absolutely breathtaking but this road up the hill is used by tons of people who are driving high speed like on Pikes Peak Hill Climb and in many cases with loud music on so that you can here them already for miles. We came here at 4:30pm and people drove up and down until midnight. It wasn’t a peaceful place anymore and even in the middle of the night cars drove down like at 1am and 3am. It’s crazy when you’re camping directly next to the street.

Anyway, there was an outhouse (very dirty, but at least you could use it).. down the road a bit.

I still rate with 3 stars here because the nature and views are extremely beautiful and we haven’t camped down the river, but next to the streets.

Campsite: Cottonwood Campground Wyoming

Very beautiful Picknick and camping place! Loooots of ants! There is an outhouse and about 4-5 grill areas with benches and tables. Water is nice and the views are stunning!

Campsite: Lake Shore Campground — Buffalo Bill State Park

Buffalo Bill State Park Campground in Wyoming is a gem. The campsite offers a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, it provides a picturesque backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts. It’s only a 15 min drive to Cody and offers the most scenic views I’ve been to for longer. Amazing!

Many opportunities for fishing and water sports.

I absolutely loved the view!!

Campsite: Trout Bay Compground — Boysen State Park

The area is lovely and has a sandy beach. No grill, no stands, no seatings, no outhouse. But also no booking required before you go there. It’s easy to drive down to the water with your 4x4 vehicle through the sand. It’s very remote and quiet and the area has great views on the lake.
