Ran along the river and looped up to Cullers overlook. Great view. I stayed in Camping cabin #41 and it was more than accommodating. I ended up bringing a pair of heaters and was able to keep the cabin comfortable. The park was quiet not too many campers in early December. I definitely look forward to coming back to explore more.
Nice state park. Quite a few trails to explore. Plenty of parking and entrance points to the multi-use trail. Decided to run the Beaver Pond trail. It was a fairly wide trail that started out on a fire Rd and led to 2 separate loops. Not too many views and it wasn't terribly difficult.
Spent 2 nights in cabin 8. Explored the trails with a quick run around the perimeter. Lots of spots to stop and take pictures. I definitely want to head back and learn more about the Dark Sky Association. This park looks well suited for families and equestrian enthusiasts. I could see bringing the family back in the summer when the pool is open.
Really nice work with plenty of trails. Took in a short run on the trails just before dusk and was not disappointed. This park has a very well marked 5k loop as well. There are a few ways to access the park I entered along a dirt road that ended in the park at an old homestead.
