Campsite: Mt Desert Narrows Camping Resort

There's a lot to like about this campground. Fantastic location for access to Bar Harbor, Acadia, etc. Many trees add to an ambiance of camping and nature.

Only real con was that mid-way through out trip, the water from the spigot turned brown. I'm not sure if it was unhealthy, but it was very discolored. Gratefully, we had fresh water on board and switched over to our tank.

Campsite: Knight Hollow — Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation

Day use only in late September. Positives - had the place to ourselves. Good area to hang-out for the day with plenty of sand, access to water for kayaks or SUP, shade, and a modest ATV area for playing around. Negatives - tons a gnats until the wind picked up; main gravel road disappears very quickly once past the fee station and offshoots are generally very sandy as in you can get stuck if pulling something heavy.

Campsite: Lazy Lions Campground

We really enjoyed this campground. It's smallish. Very limited amenities. But beautiful and peaceful. Steve, the host, is so welcoming. The campground is well positioned to explore areas like Stowe, Montpelier, and route 100. We really enjoyed the local granite quarries, including the Rock of Ages tour. There are public hikes nearby that are beautiful and fascinating passing by old quarries.
