Campsite: Cooks RV Motor Park - Springfield, MO

We had a great experience here. It began with making our reservation. The woman who took our reservation was really friendly and helpful. When we showed up, we were greeted promptly and directed to our site. The man who helped us was also very friendly and helpful. The sites are spacious - for an RV park. It’s obvious the owners take great pride in their property. It is very well maintained. The bathrooms/showers are modern, spacious, and clean. Connections for water and electric were relatively new and in great shape. The owners have also placed really cool pieces of metal art around the park! There was always someone in the office and they were friendly and helpful. A big plus was the large grass field adjacent to the park where we were allowed to walk our dog. One of the best parks we’ve stayed in!

Campsite: The Colonies RV and Travel Park

Nice park in a really cool location. The RV park is small, but the camping sites are pretty spacious. Lots of open areas all around the park. Park is very well maintained The park is pretty popular and sites can be hard to get. But, they have some boondocking sites that are awesome. That’s where we stayed because the park was full. We loved our site. The hosts, Cindi and Derrick, are probably the friendliest and most accommodating hosts we’ve ever met!!

The RV park is located at the north end of Fort Monroe with easy beach access. Fort Monroe is also a very neat place to explore and it even has a really nice brewery near the entrance!

Couple of downsides that are a function of location - not the park management. Mosquitoes and sand burs. Bug spray and a good breeze took care of the mosquitoes The burs were a problem for our dog, so we kept him on the roads and sidewalks as much as possible. Don’t let these deter you from checking out this awesome park!

Campsite: Peter Ds RV Park

Why can’t all RV parks be like Peter D’s? The owners are super friendly and helpful. The park is laid out really well. Easy to maneuver through with decent sized campsites. The grounds are very well taken care of. Lots of grass that is kept mowed and in excellent health. Roads and RV pads are all graveled so never any mud. Although close to town and the interstate (easy access!), it is very quiet. Prices are extremely reasonable. On top of the RV Park being great, Sheridan is a really nice town. Fun breweries, good restaurants, and an awesome trail (Soldiers Ridge) nearby. Couldn’t ask for anything more! We will definitely be back someday. I can think of many other RV parks I’ve stayed at that could learn a lot about running a quality RV park from these guys!
