Campsite: Rainbow Point Campground

I really want to give rainbow point campground five stars, but I just can't do it. It is an excellent campground for Lake Access, being in a wooded area, being quiet, scenic, shaded, and so much more. However, the big flaw of rainbow point campground is the mosquitoes. They were so horrible that we left after 2 days of a 4-day paid reservation. We just couldn't take it. No one, no one was outside of their camper for the two days we were there. There. You couldn't be. The only reason I went outside was to let the dogs out. It was truly a horrible experience at a beautiful location. Quite unfortunate.

To let you realize how bad they were, I considered giving a three-star but everything else was great. Great. Assuming you were there without the mosquito season, you would love this place.

Campsite: Medicine Bow National Forest Ryan Park Campground

Very minimal campsite with a picnic table, campfire pit, and access to restrooms. Other than that it is whatever you bring with you! Simplicity is not a bad thing, really nice to keep it simple. Sometimes. At $10 a night it's a great value. There are quite a few dogs and families with young kids here. A mixture of tents and campers among the camp sites.

We stayed in campsite 33 which has great access to the restrooms and dumpsters just 30 yards away. It is a back in campsite. There are also pull through campsites if you prefer.
