We camped in the D lot in mid-september. You do have to take a gravel road, which had quite a bit of washboarding (as expected for a gravel road), and there are some potholes on the loop D road, but this didn't bother us. The hosts were nice. The bathroom for our loop was very clean and well maintained and we never had any issues accessing it when the campground was full, and the water access was good as well. Even when all the sites in our loop were full, we never really noticed. It is a beautiful campground location, the sites were really nice and nestled into the forest and it has great lake access. We also liked the location in terms of access to other areas. After reading reviews about mosquitos we brought a fly net tent to put over the picnic table and to hang out in and we were happy campers! Would definitely recommend this campsite and we look forward to hopefully being back one day.

The campground is so beautiful. Good amount of trees (very important to me) and the campsites are spaced out nicely. Also looks like the hosts do good job of keeping it clean. Like many others have said, the road in is quite bumpy. Although it's not the worst we've been on. It really, really is a beautiful area. BUT!!!! ... again, as many have said... the mosquitos are an absolute NIGHTMARE!!! I cannot stress this enough. I have been where the mosquitos are "pretty" bad but NEVER this bad! We had a campfire. We had citronella candles going AND Off. Pretty sure they actually loved that stuff. I will not return because of that. I don't know if it was just this year or if they are always bad, but... No way!! It's supposed to be a fun, relaxing time and it was anything but that.

I really want to give rainbow point campground five stars, but I just can't do it. It is an excellent campground for Lake Access, being in a wooded area, being quiet, scenic, shaded, and so much more. However, the big flaw of rainbow point campground is the mosquitoes. They were so horrible that we left after 2 days of a 4-day paid reservation. We just couldn't take it. No one, no one was outside of their camper for the two days we were there. There. You couldn't be. The only reason I went outside was to let the dogs out. It was truly a horrible experience at a beautiful location. Quite unfortunate.

To let you realize how bad they were, I considered giving a three-star but everything else was great. Great. Assuming you were there without the mosquito season, you would love this place.

Hosted the campground summer 2023. Toilets have been painted inside and epoxy garage flooring painted down. Cleanliness depends on the host. Reviews help! Nice sites and beautiful lake shore across the street. Two miles of washboard dirt road on approach and potholes on loop D interior roads are only negative.
