As a business owner, I know that adopting a hard-line 'no refund" policy is unreasonable and creates ill-will. Sometimes things go terribly wrong despite your best efforts, and failing to compensate guests proves you couldn't care less about them.
I picked this park because it was the perfect location to stop for lunch during my brother's birthday boat trip. I spent $250 on food and worked countless hours to make the day special.. I made sure that guests were allowed to use the campgrounds dock and was told "yes, for a fee". Perfect!
On the day of the party, my husband was told that we could NOT use the dock. Everyone went hungry and thirsty. I cried.
I had no more reason to stay the second night, and I didn't want to be around ugly people (here in the South "ugly" refers to the inside not the outside), so I left and asked for a night refund. Of course the clerk refused. She claimed that my husband waltzed in, miles off the main road, said he WASN'T a guest but he wanted to use the dock anyway...where there are dozens of FREE public docks, including one right next to this park.
I spoke with another camper whose cabin stunk to high heaven and was also refused a refund. There are too many wonderful parks near this money pit where you will be treated with decency and respect. Steer clear of this one.
Oh yeah, and nobody working there knows what "moor a boat" means, so here you go: "Mooring refers to lassoing, tethering, tying, or otherwise securing your boat to a fixed object, such as a dock, rather than dropping an anchor to secure your vessel.".
My husband and I have had a trailer there for 2+ years. We thoroughly enjoyed the site we had, the staff there are helpful and personable, and the amenities were kept clean. We will definitely be back. The park has been making improvements, so it just keeps getting better.
Nice clean quiet park. Well maintained. The riverview sites are awesome and beautiful. Every site has a fire ring but no picnic tables. The campground is pretty far from restaurants, shopping. Perfect place for a quiet getaway to unplug.
Park was OK absolutely offer nothing to do very boring, very expensive and they charge you big-time for using your credit card $26 on 700 without telling you. and $700 was the cheap site . also, they are moving everybody around for some reason to site to site , move us three times in sixty days .water is very hard bad yellow in color turns your hair to straw.
