Cozy RV campground in Roan Mountain, TN. Pet friendly with river-front sites on the Doe River. We offer water and 50/30/20 power connections, dump station, free WiFi. We are located in the beautiful Roan Mountain Highlands with many opportunities for outdoor recreation, especially hiking and fishing. Due to our elevation of 2,500 ft above sea level, we enjoy pleasant summer temperatures. Roan Mountain is an Appalachian Trail Community.
Wilderness Landing is a great spot! Large private sites with shade. Short trails from each site to the river. We spent 2 nights and enjoyed playing in the river with our pups, tubing down the river. Tied our tubes off and just floated for a while. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
We stayed in October and the sites are large and level and the river is nice, but it seems a little expensive. Our complaint is that when we got there someone was in our spot. There was no answer when I called so I left a message. We ended up using another spot that was empty. I got a call back three days later.
This is a great campground that is brand new. The sites are very level and spacious! Each site is very close to Doe River. The sites are beautiful and look just like the photos on the website. They are still building out the infrastructure and can't wait to see the final product. This campground will fill up fast when they finish building it out. Enjoy it now while you can still reserve a spot. The owners are a phone call away and live right around the corner. The signage needs improvement as we missed the entrance, but the owner is waiting on the state to install a sign on the road.
We took our trailer and camped for 4 nights stayed at site #1 it was perfect. The river was fun and the playground was great for the kids 👍. I recommend this place for families. It was fun and relaxing
My bf and I decided to book a one night stay in one of the cabins for new years eve. We drove 3 hours to the mountains and when we arrived, we realized there was no one there to assist us with the check-in. We called the number and left two voice messages. We decided to ask some people who were outside setting off fireworks about the check in process. They told us we should've received a code for the door in our email. I checked all folders, but there was no email. Finally, after 45 minutes, we received a call back to find out that the cabin we were supposed to be staying in was booked. Adam said he would call us back. When he called back, he informed us that he could "maybe try to get someone to clean the other cabin, but it would take around 3 hours before it would be ready." This would've gotten us in the cabin around 9pm. We asked if there was another available cabin to stay in and they said no. So we asked for a refund and he honored the refund and we're now driving 3 hours back home. This ruined our plan for a relaxing new year's eve in the mountains and was a total waste of gas and time. Do not book through the Camp Spot app. Apparently, they do not accept reservations through that app.
