We came to this magical place to found a self-reliant, intentional eco-community when I retired from corporate life in 2006. It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named after the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located. There are now a dozen homesteads here and a small thriving community. Access to waterfalls abound!!

I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one.

I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience. It's the Village 2.0 for guests. Who knows, you may decide to stay. Or not. Life in the city is OK as long as you can get away frequently.

I'm convinced if you love nature and the outdoors, this is the best place to celebrate it.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Treetent. Grant was an incredibly gracious host and showed us all around the beautiful property. It rained most of the time we were there and we were fully dry and covered. The trail back to the waterfall made for some really fun exploration - plenty to do without ever leaving the campsite!

We LOVED our stay here so much that we booked a second stay for Spring Break before we even left! The Yurtle was very comfortable and we managed to stay nice and warm even during some really cold nights. The kitchen area next to it was the selling point! We love eating and cooking while camping and this kitchen makes it a fun experience! It's big enough for everyone and has a lot of cool gadgets for you to use!

Having all that land for ourselves and the rest of the property to explore with waterfalls right there, was amazing!

Grant was a wonderful host. Can't wait to see him and his wife again.

Lots of things to do around there as well if you feel like leaving the campground... We enjoyed finding waterfalls.

Mr. Grant and Mrs. Becky have curated a slice of Heaven that is unique, full of repurposed lodging, and built into nature as opposed to on top of it. It is a unique experience and anyone staying there should make sure they read all the owner-posted information so they're prepared for a great stay. There's a lot of love, time, effort, and energy that have been poured into this place and it's obvious to all who stay there just how special it is. We spent a night at "On the Beech" treehouse and it did not disappoint. We can't wait to go back and take our daughter with us so she can disconnect, explore, and fall in love with it like we did.

This trip was incredible! Grant and Becky are so kind, and their land is breathtaking. This little oasis truly does offer all the perks of nature in the seclusion from the city if you need a getaway with good company and great hosts. Grant helped me check in and gave me all the tips and tricks of the land, and even some of its fun unique features. It's super inviting and relaxing, and if you need anything during your stay, Grant and Becky are quick to help.

I would highly recommend staying at The Falls of Sewanee Creek. Grant and Becky were phenomenal hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable. We really enjoyed getting to know them. My husband and I were blown away by the cabins and beautiful nature. We went on a weekend that is was raining so thankfully we got to see the waterfall. It was one of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. The cabin we were staying in felt so private and quiet which we loved. I also would highly recommend taking a welding class! It was so much fun learning how to do something new. We will definitely be back.
