Fishing workers did a great job. Kitchen and Bar service was an absolutely train wreck. Night was not busy and noticed bar staff sitting around doing nothing while one person was taking orders for entire bar. Have stayed here for ten years plus. Will not be going back.
did not get room we were supposed to get, bathroom was so small you could not even use the toliet. no one informed us bar and restaurant were closed. first guide was jason...he was awesome! next day we got Doug, he could have cared less about us and they way he cleaned and packed our fish was a disaster. we will book a room elsewhere next time and find a way to book jason again. jason gets 5 stars, wheelers was a joke. much better places up there than this.
Front desk was horribly disorganized from the first interaction. Sending guests to the wrong room and then blaming us for the mix up. Showers were cold, holes in the wall, no way to light stove. The guides were largely useless with exceptionally unprofessional behavior. Cursing, discussing their drug use and complaining about the fishing locations. We were woken up on the first night by the drunken resort staff yelling and using air horns. Having fished in the area for 25 years, this was by far the worst experience I have had.
Our group of four has been up ice-fishing several years at different resorts and we were wondering how the experience would be after the new management. We were blown away by how warm, friendly, and helpful each and every staff member was. Roxie, Mark, Austin, Peter, Vince, Foxy and the woman who served breakfast were all awesome. The cabin was clean and well-appointed with some thoughtful details. The icehouses were great and the food was amazing as well. One fantastic day of fishing, one very slow day, but can't control the weather. Thanks!
