About Campground

This is a primitive, pack-in campsite. Located northwest of the Learning Center, it features a fire ring with sitting stones, an ADA platform for a tent, and one replica Wickiup. This pack-in site is designed for youth groups and single family use only. It attempts to recreate what life was like for the woodland peoples who lived here hundreds of years ago.

Renters will need to carry in/carry out all equipment and refuse.

There is a pit vault restroom nearby.

Always enjoy wandering around the park looking for interesting plants and wildlife. Latest visit we spotted a small turtle in the wetlands. Saw a number dragonflies. Always see lots different plants to photograph.

Best outdoorsy park in the area. Very friendly, it seems like a place that brings out the wonder and laughter in people. Great all ages escape. It includes an all ages naturescape playground complete with a zip line and Labyrinth. There is also a learning center comolete with a small museum of artifacts.

The Learning Center has interesting displays about the ecology and history of the area. The grounds are open from sunrise to sunset. There are several miles of hiking/walking trails in this lovely park.

One of the best parks in Linn county. I have a memory of coming here as a kid on a school field trip to learn about the preserve (I specifically remember learning that cattails help filter the water lol) and at the end cutting my finger on a blade of grass. Coming back as an adult it was always still impressive.
