White Oak Boat-In Campground is one of two boat-in campgrounds on [Laurel River Lake] on [London Ranger District]. The area is accessible by boat or by [Cold Rock School Trail] that begins near the [Marsh Branch Boat Ramp]
The campground has 51 lakeshore campsites, most of which are located near the water's edge with boat moorings available. Sites have a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring and lantern pole. Self-serve pay stations, water and vault toilets are centrally located. There are no flush toilets or showers. The sites are wooded and spaced far enough apart to provide a sense of seclusion. The campground usually fills on weekends during the peak camping season.
Trails nearby: [Cold Rock School Trail #430] (3-mile hiking and biking route into the White Oak Boat-In Campground) The campground is located on Laurel River Lake. The lake features 5,600 acres of clear, deep water and nearly 200 miles of tree-lined shore. The quiet coves and cliff-lined shores offer relaxation and quiet reflection, as well as boating, fishing, skiing and scuba diving in one of the deepest and cleanest lakes in Kentucky.
From I-75, take London exit 38 and travel west on KY 192 for 12 miles. Turn left (south) on Forest Service Road 774. Go 2 miles to the Marsh Branch Boat Ramp. Boaters will travel approximately one mile south to the campground.
Fabulous place, water and primitive bathrooms, no electric.
The caretakers are super nice. It is a self pay - drop in your fees. PAY THE FEES. They have so many people skipping out and they need those funds to keep it running.
Great place, some of the ingresses into the campground are hard to see from the water but we camped in #12 and it was a great spot. This is primitive camping, no electricity, boat in or hike in only. There are nice restrooms that are basically out houses but they are super clean and spacious. There are some running water spickets around the campground available as well.
Really nice, facilities good, campsites great. this time of year no one’s there so very private. I had a great weekend.
This is our favorite place to go camping and we try to come every year more than once! The campsites are all along the water, it's secluded and peaceful and the lake is beautiful!!
We love this campground! It's not for everyone because it's boat in only ,no electricity and the only restrooms are the outhouse style. There is water access though .
If you want a private campsite on the lake with picnic tables, firepit with grill grate, level tent sites and poles to hang lights towels wet clothes....then you'll love it 😀
