From jct US 2 & US 41: Go 2-1/4 mi E on US 2.
After calling the number on the office door, Penny (owner) greeted us upon arrival. She was extremely helpful and friendly. Gave us a tour of where the bathrooms were located and then explained that I needed to call her to use the showers, which were in the office area. (Office locked up most of the day) Kind of strange set up, but no big deal. Be prepared for a tobacco smoke smell in the office and bathrooms. It’s no big deal either, but I’m not used to that I guess.
I paid a very fair price ($43/night for 3 nights) for full hook ups. We were located about 4-5 sites away from the office, and our wifi was very good. The entire campground has nice pull through sites with cool flower gardens all around. Overall the campground was quite laid back and friendly.
Despite the odd shower situation and smoke odor, I would definitely stay at Whispering Valley RV Park again. 4.5 stars!
We had booked this campground as a break for our drive across the UP. The lady I spoke to on the phone was nice and helpful; the next afternoon when we arrived, my wife goes in to check in and this old man, who smoked the entire time my wife was in the office, was a complete jerk!
He spoke rudely to my wife and when she told him he was being rude, he said, “ Bye then!” and wadded up the reservation and threw it in the floor.
Now we know why we met another couple leaving in their rig as we’re were trying to pull in.
I advise everyone to stay away from this nasty place.
