In Oakley, UT, at intersection of State Rt. 32 and Weber Canyon Rd., take Weber Canyon Rd. east 11.9 miles to Smith and Morehouse Recreation Area sign. Turn right at sign onto gravel road and go 3.9 miles to campground.
We spent one night only. The place is very nice, the restrooms are clean and not stinky, the camp sites are comfortably big and surrounded by tall pine trees.
The sound of water running down stream if the perfect sound to fall asleep plus we were able to have campfire!!!
My spouse and I have been camping here for 15 years. It’s our favorite place. Home away from home. We love that the lake is near by and the river goes through the camp sites. It’s become a lot more popular then it was back then and for awhile there it was starting to looking dumpy which hurt our hearts because this place has always been a special secret to us. All I can say is please be mindful of your trash and clean up behind you. That way it can remain special and beautiful for all those who want to create lasting memories.
Absolutely beautiful campground! Wildlife, deer, squirrels and many birds. Smith Moorehouse is within walking distance for fishing, kayaking, canoeing etc. Be sure to check with the website for campsite sizes, it was built in the 1950’s so some of the sites cannot accommodate large trailers
Another trip to Ledgefork Campground and it was fantastic as always. Camp Host Sherry does such a tremendous job keeping things clean. She is super friendly and always available. I mildly injured my knee and Camp Host James came over that evening to be certain I was alright and to see if I needed anything. I feel well cared for at Ledgefork. The area is beautiful. Hummingbirds empty my feeder and deer wonder through my camp.
What an amazing place just a hop and skip away from slc. James the campground host was fantastic keeping the place spotless and the out houses super clean and smelling somewhat decent. No running water but that was expected so bring plenty for your stay. You will definitely need reservations weekend and it was even full in the middle of the week.
