Very beautiful campsite! Has toilets, fire pits with grates for campfire cooking and tents places. Stars are beautiful at night here! Very little light pollution.
One of the best campsites I've ever been to! The location is unbeatable, you are never more than 100 feet from the river. The campsites are quite close to one another so you will definitely have neighbors and friends. For the most part everyone was respectful and having a good time. Lots of families too. During the day people sit in the shallow water near to where the boat ramp is. At night there are tons of gnats and mosquitoes so bring strong bug spray and keep your tent closed! For us the mornings could be a little chilly from about 4am-8am in July.
They have vault toilets and changing rooms that you can walk to as well as some benches in the shade. However, I do wish that they had a dumpster and a trash service. I understand the park is large but it seemed like there were rangers present at least every other day and a dumpster would be really convenient. Additionally, we arrived at night and it was hard to find the turn into the parking lot from the entrance fee station. A little reflective sign would've been a great help. Lastly the campsite map should be updated. It showed a tree by our campsite, but there isn't one, and the distances are much shorter than they look. There is also no boat in "beach," the best place is the boat loading ramp.
This place was very pretty. Beautiful water. Nice quiet area. With very nice camp sites. There were only a few RV/Campers/Vans. Don't recall tents there, too cold.
