Most spots are packed gravel on hard dirt. Lots of people living full time at the park while they're on the deployment to the base. However, there are several new concrete pads in the back. If these are available always ask for them. they are at the back of the park and more private than anywhere else in the park. The park is less than a mile from the end of one of the main runways for Dyess Air Force base. We were treated to a B1 bomber flying low and slow on final approach as well as as a C130J on final approach. Both of them were just over a 100' over our head
If you are looking for a very convenient place to park while being close to Abilene and all the attractions near by, this is the place. We stayed there for a couple of months where we felt welcomed and appreciated. They have an awesome laundry room and restrooms which are new. The owner and staff are very nice and always looking forward to assist in any way possible. Thank you Emily for a wonderful stay and if it wasn’t for the new job assignment, we would still be there😊
Planes, trains (horns), and automobiles! I should have paid much more attention to the location when booking. Right in flight path for air field landing across interstate, train crossing (train horns not just train passing by) and right off interstate with a lot of semi traffic-of course. So if you are needing a quiet place to sleep after a long day of travel I do NOT recommend. But if noise doesn't bother you, then you will enjoy the clean park and clean, big showers and a nice dog park area for the pups. Didn’t use the free laundry room but it looked very nice, and clean also.
We are relocating from Washington State to Kentucky in our motor home. We have been through and stayed at several parks in several states so far. This park is very interesting. The residents are quiet and keep to themselves which for me is nice. The location is full of various activities . It’s close to the highway so if you are towards the front there is a lot of highway noise. If you’re located towards the back you’ll experience the train going by. The entire property sits at the end of an Air Force base runway and sometimes planes fly overhead. Personally, I like the sound of trains and the planes were very cool. So if you’re just passing through and enjoy different experiences this is the place for you. If you’re looking for an entirely peaceful experience then not so much.
The area is clean and management is pleasant.
Ear plugs are great for sleeping and I had no problems 😊
Tye RV Park was our home for a little over a year. It's close to Abilene and easy to go grocery shopping at HEB, Natural Grocers, Drug Emporium or Sanctum Nutrition for your daily supplements.
The park offers a great dog corral which accommodated pur two dogs with playtime, exercise, and play dates. You can sit and relax in the covered gazeebo while you watch your dogs play. Play fetch with your pup or simply let them exercise. The beautiful modern laundry room free to residents is the perfect place to take care of your laundry. Tye RV Park employees are friendly, helpful and provided quality service.
The park offers spacious walking area, trees, a great pond. Our pups enjoyed daily walks, visits to the pond and moments outside while we drank our morning coffee, afternoons enjoying the breeze, and evenings BBQing. The pull through spots are easy to get into. The park also provides storage for your RV, boat, utility vehicle, extra car, or whatever you need to store on sight. Check with them, Emily or Susan can answer all your questions.
Anytime we pass through Tye we always stay at Tye RV Park. Enjoy your visit, I know we did!
