This was a really pretty picturesque place, with a swimming hole. Nice place for a picnic with the family. Extremely rough road that requires a high clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle.
We love it here. đ The views and the seclusion of the whole ride are phenomenal. It's about a 30-minute drive on the bumpiest road known to man kind.... if you can make it tho, the falls are the best. You can go here in mid may-july and be able to jump in from the top of the falls.
Solid 4x4 can make it from the gun range 1 mile up from Maverick. Need high clearance and lockers potentially when you get to the riverâŠ. Or you can just bang off stuff. Buts itâs doable in a stock jeep or bronco. We did in Bronco on 37â tires and 2 inch lift. Route out is terrible since the road is no fun and just bumpy. But itâs a great route to avoid any type of lollipop. I give it 4.5 stars on fun factor and a hard minus on the difficulty level. Or maybe a moderate++
Such a pretty drive. Very scenic. Don't go out without a four-wheel drive. And make sure that you are ready for a very bumpy ride. Other than that enjoy the falls and take plenty of pictures because it is absolutely amazing.
Went here for dispersed camping. We arrived at the start of the trail at night, and it started to rain. With the not so good weather the trail became slippery, even airing down to 20psi. Unfortunately it got pretty bad that we had to camp mid way. Never made it to the falls. Overnight we hit 45mph wind gust, and wasnât able to pop up my roof top tent. I ended up sleeping in the rig. Sometimes it not always glamorous. I like night wheeling with the mud, but got to know when to stop and not push too hard. The next day the views where amazing, and clear sunny skies. The drive back down was much easier. If the trail is dry, a novice with a 4x4 can make it. But if itâs wet and muddy, youâll need to have some experience, or be with someone that is experienced off roading.
