Being rated 4.2 stars on a camping site due to proximity to Six Flags Great Adventure is what caught our attention.

Booking was easy and even the wonderful friendly call made to move our day up was pleasant.

Easy to access off main road …

After that … not so much.

As we pulled in we weren’t sure what to make of it -

Gate opened after a friendly hello and we went to the registration/camp store.

Chickens/ trailers/junk/falling fences didn’t quite look like a camp and we were confused a bit but moved on.

We parked our FR3 34DS with wrangler tow by the nice clean pool and basketball/ ok not too bad maybe it looks different past that?

Very nice people in camp store and we received our map which looked like the others we had received at other campgrounds so felt a little better… just feeling uneasy about this place but ready to give it a go.

Made our way around the “streets” to our site 106 and pulled in… there was no one around.

No one.

There was a run down trailer in front of us that had so many toys and bikes and chairs and everything looked dirty. Yes I know it’s a camp we have camped but this was just different and felt “off”.

We were traveling with our 10 and 7 year old granddaughters and even they felt weird about this place - “where are all the people?” “ what IS this place?”

We didn’t even get out of the chairs -

I went to the map immediately and started looking for another campground-

We left after silence and an uncomfortable look to eachother- ya no way are we staying here.

We drove out and went to Turkey Swamp about 20 mins away-

We were able to get a beautiful half moon pull in site with trees and power and water. $45 for the night and quiet and beautiful… sorry not sorry.

It does make a fun story for the girls however and a memorable part of their trip.

Ps didn’t want to take a picture- I understand that’s someone’s campground and no need to post a picture.

Don’t go here it is creepy… they can keep our money…

Wonderful campground amazing staff! 2 mi from six flags.. The pool was amazing The playground for the kids was top-notch You could rent a golf cart play mini golf My nephew couldn't get enough at the lake great fishing.. that a live band on Saturday night..

I will agree there are some seasonal sites that are not the best kept... But for me and my family 10 out of 10 for this campground just a great place

We came with my ten year old brother for the water weekend and had the best time. “Grandma Dawn” was so helpful, kind and supportive and sure to include everyone in everything. Peggy at the pool was helpful, fun to talk to and so sweet. The staff at the store were all so kind and helpful too. We loved the staff and our experience with all the activities for the kids. The paddle boats were so relaxing and the community you have here was friendly and welcoming and we cannot wait to return. Thanks for everything y’all!

It’s very close and low key here. There’s some beautiful views this time of year. The amount of broken glass on our campsite was alarming. We are glad not to be there in the summer because it would surely have cut someone’s foot. The store hours are not posted anywhere and it was difficult to figure out when they were open. The Halloween festivities were great. Bathrooms are what you would expect from a campground. All in all, memories were made.

This is a mom and pop type campground that seemed to be run down. The store could have been a cute store but you do see the owners employees personal items in the freezer section. The arcade if you want to call it that 3 machines back of store .

The seasonal sites had trash around them and many run down campers mixed in with nicer ones .

The sand..... ugh sand everywhere. I get it your camping but this is the first campground that sand was an issue.

The sites were good size. But probably wont be back. I understand it's family run and not a resort which we were not expecting .

The employees were nice , but sat night went into the store people were eating dinner in the store and it felt like we were intruding a little.
