We took our scouts on a very rainy weekend. They still had a blast. Asked to come back. Cleanest pit toilets I have ever seen. The park staff was super friendly. They also enjoyed the observatory program even if they couldn't stargaze.
Definitely a great experience.
This was our first time visiting this state park, my sister and the rest of my family have visited this park numerous times and kind of this will be the annual family trip dessicated place to be.
This state park offer you different rentals from cabins to lots where you can put your tent.
The views on the different trails are amazing, just being out in contact with nature it's a game changer for your inner peace and mind set.
Looking forward to next year
Shelters are open for camping all year long. We stayed 2 nights there during Thanksgiving this year. Shelter was clean. Since the temperature was around 32-26 degrees Fahrenheit, we used the fireplace, and did not feel the cold. We stayed inside without jacket. There was a cleaning bucket with brush to clean the furnace. Restrooms were clean. We enjoyed the jungle ambience.
Great place! Summit trail, and swamp trail are decent. The ghost lake trail. You better be prepared to come back the same way you went. It's a tough one
