About Campground

Ponderosa Campground offers the finest, pet-friendly family camping experience at the southern New Jersey shore. Your family will enjoy a beautiful, wooded, seashore vacation setting on our property in a quaint cabin rental. We offer the best prices around and our accommodations are the closest campground to the beautiful Avalon beach (located only 3 miles away)! We offer authentic, cottage-style log cabins. Each cabin features air conditioning, a full bathroom (except for our Rustic Cabins), cable TV, refrigerator, microwave, free Wi-Fi, a full-size bed, and twin-size bunk beds. Ponderosa Campground can accommodate couples and families, as well as groups and reunions in our cabin rentals. It's the best place for camping in New Jersey!

We are nestled on 20 acres of beautiful, wooded landscape in Cape May Court House, NJ. The Owner, Marci Kelleher, and her family take pride in making sure your stay is relaxing, enjoyable and memorable. Much care is taken to ensure our cabins and sites are clean and ready for your stay. Our quiet hours are strictly enforced to provide you with a peaceful experience while you are with us. We take extra care to provide special touches that we hope will enhance your stay.

Ponderosa Campground offers a 1600 square foot saltwater pool. The pool has a zero-depth entry, making it easy to get in and enjoy. It also features water jets and a fountain for your entertainment. A lot of thought went into designing a pool that is enjoyable for everyone. There is a deeper section for adults and a shallower, child-friendly side, that offers a depth from 6 inches to 3 feet. Multiple water pumps, filters, and chlorination ensure the pool water is clean, safe, and refreshing for all.

We have a pirate ship play area located adjacent to the pool, which allows your child’s dreams of pirate adventure to come true. Within the campground you will also find a full and a half-court for basketball, a volleyball court, and a playground with a swing set, which offer fun activities for all ages.

Ponderosa Campground staff are friendly and knowledgeable about many of the attractions in the area. Whether it’s the beaches from Avalon to Cape May, the boardwalks of Wildwood, Ocean City, Atlantic City or lots of things in between, feel free to ask us any questions you may have.

Ponderosa Campground offers a clean bathhouse with FREE hot showers (for our Rustic Cabin rentals), along with a touch of seashore decor. For your convenience, we have a laundry facility onsite which uses an app (no quarters needed!). We also sell firewood, ice, ice cream and other camping essentials in our office. Please be advised that NO outside firewood is permitted in the campground due to safety reasons. Outside firewood will be confiscated and disposed of.

Our office area has many brochures providing information/directions to various Jersey Shore attractions. There are several amenities close to the campground, such as the Acme grocery store, which is conveniently located less than a mile from the campground.

Deluxe cabin was nice. Mattresses not the most comfortable though. Little ants visited bathroom sink occasionally, but not enough to be a bother. It is a campground after all.

Quaint, quiet little campground, and very close to beach in Avalon.

The young ones liked visiting the animals on the farm.

Friendly staff. We will visit again.

My husband and I somewhat enjoyed our stay. Very clean room . Annoyed that they literally hand you a manual for their campground saying pool 9a-9p. And have it on their app they so strongly recommend you getting but hubby and I walk down at 740 and get told we have to leave pools closed? We wanted to go closer to the end so the kids have all day to enjoy it . Usually stay at sun resorts driftwood for same price and get way more in terms of space, kitchen , and someone who honors their own rules and regulations.. will not be staying again

This was my first time camping in about 30 years. We had a phenomenal time. The campground was super clean it had a lot to offer. The pool was big to enjoy as well. The staff was super friendly. We can't wait to come back. I think the most important thing was it was relaxing yet fun. It's close to everything Avalon, Wildwood, shopping etc.yet far enough from every day life.

It was the last weekend of camping at the ponderosa, so there was minimal staff on site. We had a very pleasant, quiet weekend. We got some firewood from the store before they closed and had hot dogs cooked over an open fire and s'mores later on. I brought my grandchildren left ( now grown right) and three great grandchildren. We rented one of the cabins, which at my age beat sleeping on the ground in a canvas tent, as in the old days. Nice place we have been here before and will come back again.

We stayed for a weekend with our 2 young children and stayed in one of their premier cabins. It was very cute and clean. They have things for kids to do, and it's a very family vibe. The people that stay year round are very friendly, and it's pretty quiet. If your going to rent a cabin do the one with the mattress the pads for the bunk beds are pretty uncomfortable. The shower in the bathroom was great, definitely a plus when you have little kids. They do not have grills so we brought our portable one, other then that it was a nice place.
