This campground is family oriented, with very friendly people. It is so relaxing and offers lots of different things to participate in. The owner couldn't treat people any kinder. If you have any needs and talk to him... It will be taken care of real quickly. Great place to camp.
We come here a few times a year and every time we come its a good time. The owners are very personable and are always friendly when you talk to them. Camp sites are nice and cozy with a fire ring ready to go at each one. I believe all of the sites are full hookup, which is nice. I also believe that almost every weekend during the camping season there is some type of activity going on whether its a cookout, kids day, live band or hay ride behind the tractor something is always going on. They offer propane refills and have many camping essentials and snacks in the camp office. The swimming pool is nice during the hot summer days and its far enough out in the country you don't hear all the noise from the city.
I've stayed here twice in the past week. I do a lot of traveling for work, this is far, the best campground for the price. Tent camping with electric and water is 20 dollars per day. I find the people who run the place very friendly, the grounds look very well kept. The other tenants seem to be quiet. They do have a good size built in pool, however it's still too early to open the pool. But it doesn't look like they need much to do in order to open it!
They also have a small pond for fishing. Both the pool and pond have a fence around them so you don't have to worry about the wee ones wandering in and a tragedy happening. The RV campsites look very well kept. With electric, water and sewer. They have a large covered picnic area, and a small store. I also see a playground with plenty of swings as slides. It's extremely quiet here.. it's not far from Van Wert which is a sizable town with lots of things to spotzeir (wander around) and see.. I don't know what the person is talking about about with the bathrooms... They are the cleanest bathrooms I've seen at a camping area, each stall has its own showers, toilet and sink.. it's brand new ceramic tile, and brand new walk in showers with even a seat to sit on, plenty of room if you have children that need supervision while they shower... It has brand new paint and is super clean! Soon the trees will be full of leaves so I'm sure it's actually better shaded than it is right now.. yes I would stay here anytime I'm in the western side of Ohio.
Avoid this place unless absolutely necessary.
Tight camping spots. It is not a camping resort. It is a very tight rv park.
Very rude residents. Drive speed limit at night and people will yell at you and literally jump in front of your vehicle saying you are going to fast following the posted speed limit. Requested 50 amp service and even called to confirm the before arrival for the reservation details and did not get 50 amp service on check in.
The only good thing about this place are very clean and roomy restrooms.
Huggy bear campgrounds on rt 30 is just as nice facilites and nicer people. Much easier to get too from rt 30.
Very nice campground with great seasonal people. I wouldn't put to much thought into the review from a month ago, sounds like he got paid from the campground he mentioned. Sometimes people get yelled at for speeding, that's because they were doing 15-20 mph in a 5 mph zone. So check out this campground, lots of things happening most weekends!
