I usually don’t leave reviews but something has to be said.
I rented two yurts for my friends and I to stay while we went crabbing for the weekend. I left at 930 am the final day after cleaning my yurt while my other two friends went to squeeze in one more morning of crabbing.
Driving back from the coast I received a voicemail from the lady at reception saying “the yurts were filthy and couldn’t be cleaned because my friends were still in there drinking and had his dog running around the facility disrupting people.” Shocked, I called my friends who were baffled at what I had told them and the voicemail I had received.
My friends had cleaned everything out of the yurt by 11am. They even swept, which wasn’t required but are respectable people.
Once they cleaned and removed everything from the yurt, they leashed his dog to a tree so it could eat, drink, and go to the bathroom before the long drive home. During this time they sat on his tailgate and had a beer to say goodbye since they are best friends who only see each other once a year. They then left no later than 11:30am.
During this time the lady in the office had called the sheriff on them without even going out to speak with them and left me a voicemail telling me so but was out of reception during my ride home.
I received no receipt nor any of my $150 down payment explaining what charges took up the total $150. Now they will not answer my phone calls.
Sad part is we had a great time there but she just have been having a bad day. However, that kind of behavior isn’t acceptable. There are other places to stay and would suggest it if I were you.
This is the loudest campground I've ever stayed at! I think there are permanent residents here, who all leave for work at 4AM, none of them cares about their fellow campers, slamming doors and revving engines. Ridiculous and Rude!!
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SMALL THINGS THAT MAKE TILLAMOOK BAY RV PARK A TRULY BIG THING!
We travel a lot, especially in Oregon as our beautiful state has more things that we could possibly see in a lifetime but we're giving it one hell of an effort. We are always looking for the quaint little place away from the crowds and away from the jam-packed campgrounds this time of year.
Rooms... Impeccably arranged for your visit including bunk bed, comfortable futon couch and there's also a refrigerator and even a hot water pot. Electricity! Heating! All of it comes into play even on a hot summer day. The coolest thing about the room is the little clear dome where the light comes in and just brightens everything up. THE ABSOLUTE CLEANEST AND WELL-MAINTAINED YURT....
Location... North of Tillamook about 10 minutes. That damn cheese factory has millions of people crawling all over Tillamook and it was nice to get away to a quiet spot. Three quick right turns and you are at the front door. We reserved a yurt. But man, plenty of RVs of every size and shape with its own spot. Our very yurt was in the back and the key thing for our location for us was we were just steps away from the dog run where our pooch was able to run freely off leash. The dog run was green grass very well maintained, no poop all over the place whatsoever, and we went out there six times during our visit.
Customer service.... That's what makes this place truly special. When you go to check in there's a 24-hour area provided by management including ice, microwave, magazines, and a buck load of magazines and maps and such of Oregon and traveling. Again the small things made our trip fantastic. The manager that runs the joint is another reason we will return many times simply because she treated me so kindly and had information galore. Everything she wanted us to follow as far as rules were explained, she took the time and had the patience to explain the code numbers to go take a shower which by the way was the most fun I've had in a shower. 3 minutes for 25 cents I dropped in a dollar and wished I had a magazine to read while I was in there. A highlight of the trip before going to bed..
IF YOU'RE A TENT CAMPER AND WANT A BREAK, IF YOU'RE SOMEONE TRAVELING THAT DOESN'T WANT A PAY A BUTT LOAD OF MONEY FOR A MOTEL ROOM, OR IF YOU'RE OUT EXPLORING THE OREGON COAST THE YURTS AT THIS PLACE ARE VERY REASONABLE PRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET.A+++++
We love this place. The stuff is super nice and with a smile to help.
The sad part is we have come to this place for a few years, and the yurts have always had a small fridge on them
This visit, one of the yourts, didn't have it .
When I asked, I was told the owner doesn't want to spend money to get a new one.
It is a bit un the downside
It was nice, we were here during the slow season. We stayed in Yurt F. It was a bit cold at first since it's winter. But it warms up quick with the heater they provide. I took my husband for his birthday, it was his first time staying in a Yurt. The lady at the front desk was super helpful, and a lovely person. Thank you for your hospitality.
