EXTREMELY rude service. The camp hosts were completely disrespectful and two sided about their rules and policies. But they have many non written rules that they have but won’t bring them to anyone’s attention. My husband and I WILL NOT be staying at the roost resort again. We will also be informing our family, friends and acquaintances about our review.

We absolutely loved staying in cabin#9! It felt like it was very secluded and the boulders around our private fire ring added to the ambiance. We loved everything about this place from the hosts to the location and the beautiful sunsets. Cabin 9 is definitely calling us back!

If you are looking for a true ma/pa resort that is quiet, clean and extremely well maintained then look no further. The cabin I stayed in was spotless! The grounds are beautiful and the location is convenient to everything Custer and the hills have to offer. Tom and Shelah are great hosts, live onsite and were happy to accommodate. We found our 'go-to' at The Roost Resort. Can't wait to come back!

The ad in their description was right on the money. This place is quiet, spaced out with no crowding and some beautiful views out across the valley. The hosts are friendly and accommodating and I have to say the bath house (since we're on water and electric only) is one of the nicest cleanest ones I've ever seen. Also our site #12 had shade almost the entire day which in this recent hot hot weather was a definite plus. We were going to stay three days but changed it to four before we head back across the country to New England. Definitely would stay here again if we're in the area.

We stayed at The Roost Resort last week and i cannot recommend this place highly enough. First the owners live on site. Very nice accommodating couple. They have a beautiful home there. The campsite is small but has everything you need. It’s a great location close to Custer walking distance even. You overlook the most beautiful valley that has a horse ranch and in the distance you see mountains. The Roost is quiet and very well kept. Wi-Fi available. No muddy patches and the spots are fairly level. The owners must be pretty picky who they rent to because we never heard our neighbors. The Roost Resort is also very centrally located to where you want to go. My Rushmore, The Badlands, Spearfish, The Needles Highway etc. we loved it. Great place
