From Whitesboro, TX, travel 13 miles north on Highway 377. The campground is on both sides of the highway as the highway enters the Willis Bridge crossing into Oklahoma. The east side access is a contolled entrance park. The west side access is where the trailhead for the Cross Timbers hiking trail is located.
Lovely, level, sizeable sites, each of which has a covered picnic table area. Some waterfront sites have their own little beach. Campground lost a star because the bathroom is a good way away up a hill and is quite dated, but an attendent related that they are scheduled to get new ones down in the campground in 2023.
Okay if you want an authentic camping experience and I do mean Authentic!!! Then this is the place to go. Shall I start by saying the view to the lake is amazing but outside of that well there’s nothing else good to say about this place. All the restrooms were just truly disgusting no one came to even dump the tanks. So all you smell is a pile of poop. It is pitch black at night no lights what so ever, the deers like to come by your tent and raid whatever they want (food). The showers that they offer are just filled with a copious amount of spiders and to top it off the shower is a stone shower (like the ones they have at the beach to rinse off) No hot water. You can tell this place has not been kept in Lord knows how long. So again if you want that camping experience where it’s cleaner to poop or pee outside than it is to use their amenities. This is your place.
Nice older Core of Engineers facility. It has an adequate but narrow boat ramp for Lake Texoma access and boats can beach near your RV. Sites have water electric covered table. Dump at entrance and pit toilets $26 a night .
An important thing to know about Juniper Point is that there is an East Campground and a West Campground. The East campsites have access to the lake for swimming near many of the camp sites. The camp site we rented was D07, Loop D; it is in the West side of Juniper Point park, and it has limited access to the water. You would have to navigate huge boulders on a steep cliff-like area to get down to the water. There is a nearby boat ramp within walking distance and a small beach area next to that that is again blocked off by lots of rocks. This is not a good camping spot for swimming or kayaking/paddle boarding. You could not park your boat near your site. It is, however, a GORGEOUS, generously sized RV camping spot with great views of the lake and sunset (we camped in June), a pristine concrete pad with picnic table and fire pit with grilltop that pivots out of the way if needed, nice grassy areas, and partial shade. It feels very private. We will definitely reserve this spot again in the fall. We'll have to go to the East side next time for swimming.
We love it here! Have a favorite site, love the covered patio... right on the water.
But now the trees need trimming!🤯 They ran all across the top of our rv... and we're semi height.
