Beautiful setting hidden away from major highway. Well worth the trip, especially when the coming days begin and remain warmer.

Be sure to pack a lunch to make your day last longer in the "for rent" canoes or paddle boats on the lake.

Or get ready to fire up the charcoal on the many standing BBQ grills near the boat house.

Either way, you will create lasting memories for the whole family.

Enjoy!

I consider my family to be state park aficionados. We’ve been to almost all of the state parks within 3 hours of DFW. Daingerfield is in the top 2 that we’ve visited (because I LOVED the quietness of Bonham).

If you’re camping, the sites are decent. They’re not level, but the park was basically built on the side of a hill, so it’s understandable. There are plenty of tent pads, and the tree canopy is amazing.

Bathrooms are very clean and well furnished. Showers were cold, but on a hot day, that wasn’t such a bad thing (plus it was Labor Day weekend, so lots of people).

The trails give a variety of difficulty and sightseeing opportunities. The swimming area and diving platform are very good, and the store is located in a common sense place (central to all the activities) that can supply you with anything you left at home.

This is one park we will DEFINITELY be back to see again.

I’ve been coming here since 2013 with my family and friends. This place is a big part of my life. My favorite part about coming to Daingerfield State Park, is going on the hiking trails and getting out on the water. Very friendly park rangers. They work hard to protect and preserve wildlife natural habitats.
