The park is amazing. I love it. I come almost every year. This time we have a new administration and for fist time we found Grumpy rangers. Excessive micro management in my opinion. I hope they comeback to be nice as they always were before…
There is a magic to Texas forests in the mist. It drifts through the towering oak and nut trees bare branches. Capturing the moisture and letting it fall in noisy drips. The vines and plants climbing the trees add an eerie feeling.
Relaxing after our hikes during the winter is much nicer with a heated shelter!
What an amazing park this is! It has some construction going on and once it’s done it’ll be even better. It’s just huge and without the map it’s easy to get lost. The scenery is amazing! The swimming area is like a beach and just so pretty. The shelters are spacious and very clean. The bathrooms are super clean too. The grass is well cut and the fishing dock is so serene and just beautiful. Definitely a great park for camping.
