Take I-40 to Exit 317 and take Hwy 127 north for 46 miles. Turn right on Hwy 154 and travel 12 miles to park entrance.
We had a great time hiking the trails and visiting the swinging bridge, picnic areas, the Natural Bridge, and Hazard Cave. It was all absolutely beautiful.
This was an AMAZING campground! The staff was exceptional, especially Ranger Martin who led the glow worm hike. The trails were beautiful and the campground was kept clean! It was quiet and felt safe. We stayed in A19 right by the bath house.
The only complaints I had was the lack of directional signs to get from place to place because I’m bad at reading maps, and the shower was clogged so it was overflowing a lot but those aren’t huge issues!
We fell asleep to the sound of a whippoorwill and woke up to even more bird songs and a serene environment. We drove 4 hours to stay for two nights and I didn’t want to leave when the time came. I highly recommend staying here and I will absolutely be back!
P.s. make sure you check the size of your tent when reserving a site! Our tent area was a little too small but we made it work!
Beautiful park, so many great trails and gorgeous scenery! Our cabin was fantastic too.
This park was very pretty, and surprisingly uncrowded. I was there on a holiday weekend, doing some of the more popular trails, and saw very few other hikers.
Great park. Beautiful setting. Hiking for all ages, awesome geo structures to discover. Water. Fishing & the cabins have lovely views. I especially love the old stone cabins, they are beautiful.
The hikes ate doable & not strenuous, but the features are also quite accessible from roadside for the less adventurous or those less inclined to.hike but love seeing that pot at then end of the rainbow.
I recommend s stop in the visitor office for advice & some great merch at reasonable prices too
