We went out to watch the meteor shower. It is accessible in the dark but it it VERY dark. Know the area in daylight to ensure you know where you are. Mosquitoes, chiggers, and other biting things abound. Bring good DEET bugspray and any other measure like proper clothing and netting.
Primitive campground, one pit toilet & dumpster. No potable water. ~20 first come first served sites. Decent sized sites, not a lot of privacy between sites. Mostly shaded.
Small access shore to lake.
Google tried to bring us in through a closed road. Highly recommend coming in via 49 to Gatlin Point Rd.
Very buggy at night. We came here to find a quiet place to camp during the week, only 2 other sites had people, but of course those people were unfortunately loud at times.
If you need to play music while at a place like this, many of us would appreciate it if you'd turn it down- we don't want to hear it from the other side of the campground.
Loved our family weekend camping and kayaking trip here!!
Highly recommend bringing bug spray!!
Beautiful! The folks before us left trash and diapers but we took care of that quickly! The bathroom was clean and the set up on the fire ring is very nice, you can cook right there on it!
We camped here in November and it was a bit cold but I loved the campsite! We were right on the lake, the area was well maintained, there’s a bathroom and a dumpster on site, there are picnic tables for each site, the payment process is easy, and it feels like you’re far from the hustle of city life which is what I wanted.
