Wonderful little trail. We stopped at overlook first. It was a good choice. Easy gentle hike. Not too busy on a Monday AM.

Scary we hiked this alone. No one else was around. But 10 out of 10. Loved it

Took rhus trail up thru the overlook (roped off so you're not supposed to go to close due to erosion) and followed pathuo and round to Smith lake. There and back about 2 hours. Very little challenges here. Last 1/4 of trail to Smith lake is uncovered from sun and serpentine with a bit of steepness. Lake wasn't much to see either. Wouldn't recommend.

Enjoyed the flowers, surrounded by butterflies, raspberries, huckleberries. The trail was in good condition but in the sun most of the time. Went to Whitefish Lake to cool off.

This is a real easy hike through some nice hills. Only a 500 foot elevation change and nothing too steep. Reaching smith lake is a very nice surprise at the end of your walk. This looks like a fantastic moose territory but on the day we did the trail there were none to be found.
