Nestled in the basin and range of central Nevada just outside Austin, Spencer Hot Springs remains a favorite for veteran and newbie soakers alike.

Was hard to get to, definitely have proper four-wheel drive; deeeeep potholes.
But the second hot spring pool we found was lovely. Didn't feel the need to hunt them all down. It's probably better to camp instead of just a day trip.
There was a weird RV guy with two very aggressive pit bulls parked right next to one of the pools. We tried approaching the pool but his dogs were basically about to attack us. Came back the next day and he was still there, completely set up shop as if the hot springs are his own personal back yard.
I don’t understand why some people can be so greedy as to ruin the experience for everyone.
The other pools were great, though.
My girlfriend and I go here at least 12 times a year. By far the best hot springs in Nevada. Weekends usually pretty croweded. Our personal experience, I you go Monday thru Thursday you usually have your pic of which ever spring you want. Fyi don't be surprised to see naked people of all ages regularly. It's awesome lol
Scenery is nice, the road isn't bad and the water is ok. However the water is also tepid and there are people in campers parked just feet away from both pools which is creepy at best. Left.
