Amazing place to camp. We camped at site 89, but will try for 90 next time. 90 sites directly behind 89 and has water access.

Definitely get there before dark the primitive site are hard to see and tge only real light is in the parking lot.

Bring a wagon!

We compiled with a 3 mo, 3 yr, old and a puppy and this site was perfect for us.

There us a nice picnic area next to the swimming Whole, which was freezing even though it was still very hot during the day. The playground is also in the area, but uncovered and was too hot ro touch while we were there.

Primitive sites are with in walking distance to the reatrooms.

We had a blast here at the state park. We came from Dallas for a quick stop by and were excited to find such a beautiful park just an hour and a half away.

The staff member at the gate was super friendly. He gave us a map and showed us the best scenic locations where we can drive to.

At the lake, we had a picnic, hiked some trails and took some great pictures. The park is clean and well maintained. There are several clearly marked picnic areas throughout the park, as well as kids play areas, fishing piers and a volleyball court.

We will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful area, camp grounds are well kept. Bathrooms/Showers are heated and very clean. I'm glad we found this park, and I will be back next year.

The park itself was great! The trails were well marked and maintained, and the park Ranger in charge of our area was very friendly and kept the bathrooms nice and clean... At least until a very large group of families (all together) showed up.

That being said, the people around our campsite were the very opposite of pleasant. I honestly could not believe the lack of camping etiquette the group of families around us had. Their kids were running wild and crazy, being excessively loud until around 11pm every night, constanly running through our campsite, leaving trash everywhere, and completely trashed the bathrooms by stuffing toilet paper in the sinks to stop them from draining properly and covered both shower stalls, walls and floors, in mud. Unfortunately, this experience will probably be the reason my family will not return. :/
