Located 18 miles from Rockdale and Giddings. Park is on Hwy 77 in Lexington, TX on the east side of the road.
Stayed here for over a month, and it's a delightful little campground. It feels very mom and pop esque(anyone stopping for a night, they don't take cards so come with cash). Very clean and mostly seems to be older folks. The bathrooms are small but I've never has to wait in line, never seen anyone else use them(most campers I see though have trailers big enough for their own bathroom). They're super clean though, some of the best campground facilities I've encountered :)
We stopped here for the first time on our way to Victoria from far north Texas. What a nice surprise. We called ahead for a reservation and glad we did because they stay booked up. They recommended the Mexican food at Granny’s Cafe and it was incredible. The owner showed us to our spot and was very accommodating.
I'm giving it a one star only because it is a quite place, if you come to visit then yes it's a great place to camp for a night or two, but if you come to live here it's not so good. Cold bathrooms in the winter because no heater, hot bathrooms in the summer because of no a/c. They clean the restrooms every two days and it's cleaned by teenagers which isn't cleaned correctly... They only mow in the area's where new campers come in more often than they do with those who live there. I wouldn't come back to this place since I know how it's ran here, be glad when we're gone in another month.
Parked us in the high grass. Had full hookups but that's the only thing going for um. A lot of live ins and I guess none of then has a mower. Host was a nice lady and very helpful but I guess she don't have eyes for neatness.
We moved to take a job at Sonny's Rv. Working 7 days a week for 7 months it was time to pick up and leave. The owner's are extremely money hungry and always wants cash for payment.
Even though they would advertise for Passport America card, they didn't like giving discount. said that they where losing money. They never wanted us to ask if they had a Passprt America card or it they was a veteran. Was accused of taking money out of there pockets for asking.
They always complained about loosing money with the discount of $5.00 off of $25.00.
The price for long term stay is 275.00 plus 100 deposit for 2. Plus you had to pay a high electric bill. If you had small children it would be 50.00 more a person even if you have small children. They always said it was because they was using there water. The bathhouse is very cold winter and very hot summer. Floors sweet bad and floor becomes very dangerous to walk on.
It would be wise to take a picture of your meter monthly. And always get a receipt when paying by cash or even check because you never know when they will say you didn't pay. The sewer system was never maintained like it needs to be. And it smells through the park. The grass only gets cut if they are expecting a group to come in and then they are sugar and spice with everybody. Grass can be as knee high sometimes
