From jct US 183 & Hwy 1431: Go 9-1/2 mi W on Hwy 1431.
I called for a reservation. Was informed they had 4 new sites and I’d be the first to use one. Was informed the sites were concrete pads and level with 50 amp service and Wi-Fi.
1. GPS took me about 3 miles away to a vacant lot with low hanging trees. Garmin uses Campendium for data so I don’t know who not to trust on this one.
2. Found the location and went to the site. The new pads are in back over a drainage curb that brings anything low hanging on your coach (exhaust pipes/sewer outlets) in extremely close proximity to impact.
3. Backed into the site. Noted it wasn’t even close to being level. Maxed out my jacks trying to get level. Added my 8” extension blocks and still couldn’t get level.
4. Attempted to plug in my 50 amp power cord. Pedestal outlet was installed upside down and blocked by a metal rain guard. Noted that the vacant site next to me was the same way.
5. Did a field mode to get plugged in only to discover power was inadequate to run the coach. Leg one was correct. Leg two was low powered. After several minutes of attempting to get our coach fully powered up, I gave up.
I disconnected, dropped my jacks, pulled my extra leveling blocks, hooked up my Jeep, negotiated the curb cut and got the hell out of there. Would you believe they asked me what year my coach was when I made the reservation? Ballsy to say the least.
really cozy place tucked away in the hills near Lago Vista. Close to a grocery store, hardware stores, gas station, town hall, post office and library, gym... I would recommend this place definitely. Owner Jim is friendly and easy to get along with. Atmosphere safe and well taken care of. It's also quiet. Very affordable price too, includes electricity.
Frankly, I've stayed at quite a few RV parks all over Texas. This is by far the most equipped.
Some of the amenities I truly enjoyed were the no charge laundry services located on site. Clubhouse, with his and hers full bathrooms. A billiards Texas country style feel (very authentic). I also appreciate the peace and quiet, truly I have no issues or complaints about the location or staff.
Heads up for cell phone users, if you don't have wifi calling capable phone, expect yourself finding a good spot to get reception. Not a whole lot that can be done about that.
The Owner is very reasonable and respectful.
The office manage is equally so and truly a joy to interact with.
I just wanted to make sure I took the time to extend my appreciation for the time is spent there. Truly a worthu place to stay if your in the area looking for a quiet, convenient place to stay.
Great but too far and outta my price range. Texas has gone overboard!
Nice place to stay, the park is usually full for the most part as it is nestled in a low draw area inside rhe Hill Country. with plants and aged trees throughout. All roadways are black top. One of the quietest parks I've visited.
Shopping, restaurants and e-commerce are only a few miles either direction from the park.
Jim, the owner takes pride in overseeing the park keeping it manicured . He goes out of his way to make sure everything is in order and working properly. A nice large Lodge is available to have your friends or relatives over . All amenities are included inside. 2 laundry locations on site . Breathtaking evening views of the Texas Skyline moon and brilliant stars . The mornings and evenings are something to look forward to with great, satisfying weather.
Rent is probably better than neighboring sites in this area.
